Windshields.com, Mercer Island, Wash., is partnering with insurance companies to implement a new tool that will compare insureds’ deductible to market pricing. The company is in discussions and test mode with several insurance carriers to bring this function to their Web sites and has been developing the technology to accommodate the requirements of each insurance carrier, according to a company release. The technology will bring all parties involved significant cost savings, according to the release. Carriers will reduce claims and third party administration fees. Those insured will have the ability to verify if market pricing may be lower than their deductibles. The information will be compiled using registered retailers from the Windshields.com database and deductible information from the insurance carrier based on the insured’s location, and can be either presented to the insured through the insurance corporate Web site or the insured can be redirected to Windshields.com for market price verification.
