Vertical-handle windshield cup
Wood’s Powr-Grip Co. of Laurel, Mont., offers the LJ6VH, a vertical-handle vacuum cup with a rigid, yet comfortable, handle for fast, trouble-free windshield replacements. According to company literature, the cup attaches quickly to most windshield curves, providing a reliable, non-slip grip. An all-metal vertical handle provides leverage for easy windshield positioning, and a red-line indicator on the pump warns the user in case of vacuum loss.  Lift tabs on the vacuum pad provide instant release, and each cup is supplied with a protective pad cover. The vacuum pad measures 6 inches in diameter, and each cup has a load capacity of 70 pounds, according to company representatives.

Glass handling

The Glass Handler Kit from Aegis Tools International of Madison, Wis., is designed to reduce the likelihood of lower back injuries, company officials say. When used with the provided elbow pad, the glass handlers distribute the weight of the glass evenly, allowing technicians to utilize their upper body strength rather than putting strain on their backs. The product also enables installers to use a straight-in approach when setting windshields. The result is an installation with more precise urethane contact and a safe, leak-proof seal, supplier representatives report.
