Solutia Inc., St. Louis, named Ray Kollar as president and general manager of its CPFilms subsidiary, also in St. Louis. Most recently, he worked as vice president of commercial services for Solutia’s Technical Specialties business, where his proactive commercial approach generated significant sales volume increases in these premium branded product lines. Prior to joining Solutia in 2007, he spent 20 years at Intel Corp.,Santa Clara, Calif., in positions of increasing responsibility in the sales and marketing areas. Kollar earned an M.B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis and a B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Akron. He will continue to work at Solutia’s world headquarters in St. Louis.
GlastonManne Tiensuu joined Glaston, Finland, as senior vice president, human resources and as a member of Glaston's Executive Management Group as of May 15, 2009. He reports to CEO and president Mika Seitovirta. Previously, he worked at Nokia Corp. in various global HR management positions since 1999.
Glass Association of North America
The Glass Association of North America’s Building Envelope Contractors Division appointed Doug Penn of United Glass Corp., Louisville, Ky., as the new chairman of its Technical Committee. Penn graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in marketing and joined PPG Industries, Pittsburgh, as a management trainee. He rose through the ranks to become regional sales manager for the company’s architectural aluminum group. He left PPG to form Pittco Architectural Metals Inc., Elk Grove Village, Ill., and manage the new company’s fabrication and distribution center, and marketing group. In 1995, he started with YKK AP, Austell, Ga., to coordinate the development of the company's installation instructions and help establish the marketing department. He remained at YKK AP until 2008 when he joined United Glass Corp., Louisville, Ky., as national architectural product manager.
Door and Hardware Institute
Greg Drake, has joined the Door and Hardware Institute as the new associate director of Certification/Technical Services. Greg will oversee DHI’s consultant certification process, provide technical assistance for DHI's publications, and support DHI educational and certification programs. Drake is celebrating his 35th year in the door and hardware industry. In 1973 he began selling fasteners and hinges at a hardware store and learned to masterkey locks. For several years, he has also been very active as a volunteer with Builders Hardware Manufacturers Association and the Door and Hardware Institute.
Technoform Bautec, with North American headquarters in Twinsburg, Ohio, expanded its North American workforce with the addition of Manuel “Tony” Roman and David Buddenhagen. Roman was appointed sales engineer. His responsibilities include Technoform Bautec structural insulating strut sales throughout the Northeast. Previously, he served as a national account manager for United States Gypsum Corp., Chicago. Buddenhagen was appointed sales engineer. His responsibilities include Technoform Bautec structural insulating strut sales throughout several Midwest. He possesses expertise in business development, sales, sales management, marketing, training and structural framing. Previously, he served as regional sales manager for Carter Components/Structural Systems, Newton Falls, Ohio. He also spent 13-plus years with international forest products company Weyerhaeuser, Federal Way, Wash., focusing in development of its engineered lumber product lines and structural frame system solutions.
Quality Metalcrafts LLC, Rogers, Minn., announced the addition of Amond Neuville as director of project management. He will oversee all project management and drafting responsibilities for the company. Neuville comes to the company with experience in both architectural metal fabrication and glazing contractor firms. In addition, Neuville is a licensed architect, contributing a new dimension to the organization, according to a company release.
RHI, Austria, added Ernst Stoelzel and Robert Gregan to its management team. Stoelzel has been the head of RHI’s Raw Materials Division since the beginning of May and directly reports to CEO Thomas Fahnemann. Stoelzel is responsible for the group’s entire raw material mining and processing, the supply of plants with raw materials, as well as the external purchasing and sale of raw materials. Robert Gregan assumed the management of RHI’s Business Development, Strategy, Mergers and Acquisitions department, at the beginning of May. He also reports directly to CEO Fahnemann and is responsible for setting the course and implementing the strategic positioning and business development, as well as the M&A activities that will be decisive for RHI in the future. Moreover, he holds a key position in the group’s restructuring, which is currently being implemented.
Tesa Tape Inc., Charlotte, N.C., a division of Tesa SE, a manufacture and supplier of pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes, recently named Chris Ferrelli sales specialist for the Northeast United States. Prior to assuming his new position, Ferrelli served the company as a strategic segment manager for the transportation segment, and he will continue as a team leader for sales and support for the aerospace and defense industries. Mr. Ferrelli has also held the position of sales specialist for south central states.

She brings more than twenty years experience in the architecture, engineering, construction industry to the company. She has a strong background in accounting and financial management relating to the industry, having been associated with some of the largest architectural firms in the St. Louis area.

The Jackson Corp., Los Angeles, has announced the appointment of David Jones as director of sales. He has more than 30 years experience in the door, glass and hardware industries,14 of those years with Jackson as its regional sales representative. He rejoins Jackson after a short absence to concentrate on Jackson’s nationwide OEM and distribution channels.
