United Glass Corp., Oakdale, Pa., recently installed a state-of-the art, full convection oven at its Pdc Glass location in Pittsburgh, according to a company release. The furnace produces heat-treated glass up to 10 inches by 180 inches in size, 1/8 inch to 3/4 inch in thickness, with low levels of roller wave distortion. Lite Sentry equipment, installed on the tempering line, monitors every lite of glass and can provide electronic documentation on a per project basis. In addition to the new furnace, the company expanded its facility and added a high-speed cutting line that has streamlined the production process to shorten lead times and ensure on-time delivery, according to the release. The company also developed a new logo and a complete corporate graphic identity.
