Diamond Auto Glass to cut more jobs
September 12, 2008
The corporate parent of Diamond Auto Glass will further cut the workforce of its Kingston distribution center and move the facility to another location in Northeastern Pennsylvania by the end of 2009, a company spokeswoman said Thursday, according to a Sept. 12 CitizensVoice.com report.
Belron US, Columbus, Ohio, a subsidiary of Belgian Belron SA, bought Diamond for $50 million in June after Diamond declared bankruptcy in April.
The company announced in July that 165 jobs would be cut from Diamond’s Kingston headquarters and the responsibilities absorbed by Belron’s Columbus headquarters.
In August, 135 more employees were told they were to lose their jobs, Belron spokeswoman Jenny Cain said.
