Pittsburgh Glass to shut three auto glass plants in '09
December 4, 2008
Pittsburgh Glass Works will close three plants next year as a stalled car sector is expected to continue slicing demand for its auto glass products. The firm makes windshields, side windows and sunroofs for various cars and trucks.
The plans is to shut three plants: a production plant in Oshawa and two satellite facilities, one in Cambridge, Ont., and another in Newark, Del. After these closures, the company will have nine remaining fabrication plants in U.S. and Canada.
