Advanced technology and new glass education academy at Vitrum 2009

Despite the ups and downs in the market, Vitrum 2009, the 16th international exhibition specializing in machinery, equipment and systems for flat and hollow glass, and glass and processed products for industry, has responded well to the economic crisis in recent months.

The leading Italian glass exhibition has been enriched with new contents this year, according to a June 22 release. Vitrum Lab, an educational course and artistic workshop for primary school students, will inaugurate this year. The lab will help younger children learn about glass, in its finest sense.

At the Milan exhibition complex in Rho, Oct. 28-31 , primary school students from Milan will discover, through old pictures and live demonstrations, the exceptional craftsmanship of Murano master glassmakers, coming into contact with this unique artistic heritage.
The children will be involved in creative workshops, making objects out of glass; they will become familiar with this precious material and will discover the unlimited potential of an important Italian industry, while having fun, according to the release.

Vitrum represents a meeting point between Italian industry and the new generations, who in the future will have the chance to enter the workforce with an additional stimulus.
