Biesse Canada to move into new headquarters
Construction began in October 2008, and the new 25,000-square foot structure contains nearly 6,000 square feet of space dedicated for offices and meeting and training rooms. A number of green building approaches have been incorporated into the design, such as the liberal use of glass, which will let in abundant sunlight and lessen the need for electric lighting.
Six thousand square feet has been devoted to a state-of-the-art showroom, where Biesse and Intermac machines will be demonstrated at in-house events such as the company’s popular “One2One” educational series. The building also features a 13,000-square-foot, 8-ton craned warehouse. In terms of design, keeping with the surrounding buildings the Montreal facility will be modern, wrought primarily of bricks, steel and glass.
“The headquarters’ site in Mirabel was strategically chosen for easy access to freight transportation at the logistical airport of Montreal: Mirabel International Airport,” said Federico Broccoli, President and CEO of the North American operations of Biesse and Intermac, in the relase. “The new Canadian headquarters will be located 5.8 km (3.6 miles) from this airport, and the proximity will allow Biesse to maintain our outstanding track record for shipping and provide the highest level of service and support to our Canadian customers.”
Biesse continues to maintain a 6,200-square-foot facility in Toronto, which includes a 5,050-square-foot showroom, and also utilizes the BCIT Showroom in Vancouver, BC. In an effort to enhance service for its Canadian customers, the company has been building up its overall presence, expanding its dealer network, as well as bringing additional sales and technical personnel on board, according to the release.
