Crystal Windows' Steve and Thomas Chen Assume New Executive Roles
Crystal Window & Door Systems announced two executive changes. Steve Chen, the company's executive vice president, will also assume the title of chief operating officer, effective Feb. 1, and Thomas Chen, Crystal founder and president, will assume the title of chief executive officer, according to a Jan. 27 release.
Since joining the company's executive ranks in 2005, Steve Chen has dramatically expanded his scope of responsibility for the general operations of the company. In addition to running all the New York-based main production and headquarter operations, Steve directs Crystal's branch offices and national sales organization, and provides oversight for the window and door production facility in Chicago. Steve is also president of Crystal Extrusions, the company's wholly owned aluminum extrusion subsidiary. Additionally, he coordinates operations with an affiliated manufacturer in California, according to the release.
Thomas Chen launched Crystal in 1990 and has led company's growth and expansion, with products now distributed in more than 35 states nationally. In his new CEO role, Thomas will focus primarily on strategic initiatives related to new markets, manufacturing expansion plans, entrepreneurial ventures into related industries and overseas activities. In 2012, he established a fenestration manufacturing operation in California to serve the southern West Coast market, and he continues to explore opportunities for related new endeavors serving the design and construction market.
