Messe Düsseldorf officials announced Sept. 15 that the group will launch solarpeq, a trade show for the solar energy industry, Sept. 28 through Oct. 1, 2010. To be held in conjunction with glasstec in Germany,  the event will showcase state-of-the-art production equipment and technology for thin-film and crystalline photovoltaic applications.

At glasstec in 2006, 36 exhibitors participated at what was then the first-time presentation of photovoltaic/solar energy. During the last glasstec in 2008, that number rose to more than 150, according to a release.

"The core idea of the new fair is to extend the focus of the successful solar/PV segment at glasstec and to establish a trade fair clearly focused on solar energy production technology, which is held every two years in parallel with glasstec in Düsseldorf," said Hans Werner Reinhard, division director in charge of glasstec and solarpeq, in the release.
