Former MGA President, Jim Griggs, Passes Away

James (Jim) Griggs, former president of the Maryland Glass Dealer's Association, now the Mid-Atlantic Glass Association, passed away on June 14, 2014, at the age of 66. Named the association's first president in 1982, Griggs was also the owner of Bel Air Glass and Mirror Co. in Harford County, Maryland, where he ran the business until 2002 before selling the full service glass company in 2005.

"Jim was one of the founding members of our association," says Maureen Heavner, executive director of the Mid-Atlantic Glass Association. "He also served on numerous committees in our organization. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him."

Griggs is survived by son Matthew Griggs and wife Whitney, his daughter Erin Kane and husband Matthew; his grandchildren Addison Kane and Jackson Kane; and one brother Ted Griggs, III.

Family and friends will honor Jim’s life at  Evans Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services in Bel Air, 3 Newport Dr., on Friday, June 20, 2014 from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The interment  will be a private ceremony.
