The Glass Association of North America, Topeka, Kan., elected Marc Deschamps, business development manager, Walker Glass, Montreal, as chair of GANA’s Decorative Division, according to a March 14 release. He succeeds Kris Vockler, vice president, operations, ICD High Performance Coatings, Vancouver, Wash., who has chaired the division since its inception in 2007. He will take over the chair after at the division’s meeting at Glass Week, March 24-27, at the Paris Resort and Casino, Las Vegas.

Deschamps, born and raised in Montreal, is a graduate from the Faculty of Management at Montreal-based McGill University. He worked from 1982 to 1992 in finance and accounting for major firms in Montreal, before working as a controller and sales manager for Lamiver Inc., a glass laminating operation in Montreal. In 1998, he joined Walker Glass as director of finance and purchasing, before becoming a sales representative, and eventually, business development manager. He has been actively involved with GANA for the past five years, serving in various committees and task groups.

In his spare time Deschamps enjoys spending time with his wife and child (with another on the way), as well as landscaping and other home improvement projects. He is a big hockey fan, and says he was an even bigger baseball fan until the Montreal Expos franchise was moved to Washington.
