Glaston Corp. has entered into exclusive negotiations for the sale of Albat+Wirsam Software GmbH, thereby exiting the software solutions business, according to an October 19 release. Glaston officials expect the transaction to be completed by the end of 2012.

“Glaston wants to put more focus on growing and developing its core competences: glass processing machinery and related services," said Arto Metsänen, CEO and president of Glaston, in the release. "The transaction, when completed, will benefit both Glaston and Albat+Wirsam, as the parties can put more strategic focus on their core businesses."
