Harmon Inc. announced the sale and closure of its 24-hour on-call service business, to focus on its core contract business, according to an Oct. 15 company release.

"Harmon has built its reputation on the commitment to customers to provide innovative system solutions to meet the project design criteria," officials said in the release. "Harmon's project management experience and engineering expertise consistently adds value to each project. The 24-hour on-call service business for all commercial buildings did not complement Harmon's strengths, and did not contribute to the future strategic growth goals."

The company will continue operations in 12 locations in the United States, serving the contract new construction and renovation markets. "The transition from the on-call service market will not impact Harmon's current project commitments," officials said in the release. "The reallocation of resources will increase Harmon's capacity for the core project business."
