Serbia’s Privatisation Agency has invited bids in a tender for the acquisition of 100 percent of the total registered capital in the Glass Company Pancevo, according to an agency report Oct. 9. The deadline is Dec. 19. Bidders must satisfy certain criteria, including minimum revenues and capital. The company, established in 1930, manufactures glass for use in the automotive, construction and other industries.

The production of glass and glass products in Hungary in the first eight months of this year was 16.4 percent higher than in the same period in 2007, according to a report from Hungary’s Central Statistical Office, Oct. 14. Glass and glass products manufacturers’ sales in the January to August period were 15.4 percent higher year-on-year, with an increase in sales of 12.4 percent on the domestic Hungarian market and 17.4 percent higher sales on export markets.
