J.E. Berkowitz Celebrates Expansion with Groundbreaking Ceremony
J.E. Berkowitz held a groundbreaking ceremony Thursday, June 19, to mark the start of its Pedricktown, N.J., facility expansion, which will include 53,000 square feet of additional space for warehousing and the comany's fourth jumbo insulating glass line.
More than 100 people attended the groundbreaking, including JEB employees, friends, family, local officials, suppliers, bankers and builders. Both second generation president and current chairman, Edwin Berkowitz, and third generation, current president, Arthur Berkowitz, gave speeches. Edwin shared his appreciation for the hard work and dedication of all JEB employees who he said make expansions like this possible.
In his speech, Arthur Berkowitz noted that the company has held three ceremonies in Pedricktown, each four years apart, to celebrate the initial groundbreaking for the current facility, the addition of solar panels on the roof, and the expansion ceremony held on June 19. "All of this with the support of many of those who are here today, including accountants, bankers, builders, counsel, family, friends, suppliers, and of course, our valued employees," he said. "I am not sure what is next, but if history repeats itself, we will reconvene in June 2018 for more exciting developments."
Skepton Construction is set to start construction on the expansion this week.
