Judge Approves Demolition of Harmon Tower
A judge approved CityCenter’s petition to demolish the 26-story Harmon Hotel, according to an Aug. 27 article from the LA Times. Construction was completed on the Harmon, one of seven buildings in the Las Vegas CityCenter, but the tower was never occupied due to construction defects and structural concerns. In one court filing, officials from the Weidlinger Associates engineering firm stated the Harmon would likely experience severe damage during a major earthquake, according to the article.
Demolition of the building could take up to one year, according to the article.
