The National Fenestration Rating Council is among the industry groups awarded a $450,000, two-year U.S. Department of Energy cooperative grant, according to a Dec. 19 NFRC release. The groups taking part in the project will promote U.S. technologies, energy efficiency and renewable energy in South Africa.

NFRC will provide technical information, fenestration rating and certification methods, and provide limited fenestration simulation and testing training over the next two years, according to the release.

“This project is the result of NFRC’s ongoing commitment to collaborating with industry experts to educate consumers all over the world,” said Ray McGowan, NFRC’s senior program manager, in the release. “This kind of combined expertise leads to progress and helps people everywhere better understand the need for reliable energy performance ratings for windows.”
