Quanex Provides Continuing Education for Employees
Quanex Building Products continues to collaborate with Zane State College to bring continuing education opportunities free of charge to its employees. The company's program provides 200 training hours and eight college credit hours.
“A lot of companies talk the talk, but Quanex actually walks the walk,” said Tracey Tonnous, workforce training supervisor, Zane State College. “Quanex’s dedication to continuing to educate its employees without mandate is rare.”
Ten Quanex technicians participated in the second offering of the Quanex Tech 2 certification. Students took courses in hydraulics and pneumatics, industrial electricity, leadership and team building, lockout/tagout hazard training, Occupational Safety and Health Administration 10 and computer training. Many of the credits the students earned can be applied toward a two-year degree at Zane State, according to Quanex.
