Southern Stretch Forming celebrates its fifth year in Modesto, Calif., according to a Jan. 23 company release. The metal curver opened its plant in May of 2003 with the very first invoice going to San Joaquin Glass, Fresno, Calif. Since then, "we have been fortunate to have metal on many high profile buildings such as the San Jose Civic Center, the Orange County Performing Arts Center, the Saint Stanislaus Catholic Church and many others," said Charles Michie, marketing director. "These jobs have given us exposure and credibility."

The company has had its headquarters in Denton, Texas, just north of Dallas since 1991. The Modesto plant was its first outside branch and has since added divisions in Colorado and Pennsylvania, according to the release.

"This five-year milestone would not have been possible had it not been for those companies who at the outset risked sending their material to us to curve," said David Arthur, president, in the release. "We were new to them at the time."
