Truseal Technologies Inc., Solon, Ohio, requested for emergency relief against a Chinese manufacturer of spacer systems to protect Truseal's intellectual property and to safeguard the quality of IG units produced in the market place, according to a Truseal release, Oct. 8.

Truseal filed the suit Oct. 6 in the United States District Court, District of Nevada - Las Vegas against Beijing Huali Architecture Co., Beijing. The suit alleges that HualiSeal has infringed on Truseal's patent for composite spacer/sealant products, U.S. Patent No. 5,851,609. Huali sells the product under the names EdgeMax Seal and HualiSeal. Under the order issued by the court, Huali is prohibited from selling, using, offering for sale, or advertising these products until the court makes a ruling on the merits, according to the release.

In addition, Truseal also is investigating a Texas-based distributor of HualiSeal products and will take appropriate action pending the results of the investigation, according to the release.
