Officials from electrochromic glass manufacturer View Inc. responded this week to a complaint filed against the company by Sage Electrochromics Inc., according to a Feb. 14 View release. View answered the complaint by asserting that Sage's patents are invalid and are not infringed by View. According to the release, View intends to defend its rights in the litigation and does not believe it is liable to Sage for infringement of any valid claim of any patent.

Additionally, View filed a counterclaim alleging that Sage infringes View's U.S. Patent No. 8,243,357, entitled "Fabrication of Low Defectivity Electrochromic Devices." View seeks damages and injunctive relief for the infringement of its patent.

View has retained outside counsel at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale & Dorr LLP to represent the company in the case, according to the release.
