Glass and window restoration and replacement company, The Glass Guru, headquartered in Roseville, Calif., launched franchises in California, Oregon, Texas and Florida, according to a June 15 release. In April, husband and wife Chuck and Brenda Vecchiarelli opened The Glass Guru of Stockton, Calif. The couple had previously operated an Internet sales business, while Chuck Vecchiarelli worked during the day as a physical therapist. A short time later, Brenda Vecchiarelli's brother Dennis Freeman, opened The Glass Guru of Modesto in the neighboring territory to the south. Freeman worked in the cabinetry business. The company now has 16 locations in California.

Also in April, Dale Cook of Lake Oswego, Ore., launched The Glass Guru of Portland Westside, becoming the first location operating in the greater Portland market. Cook worked in remodeling and real estate and saw potential in that area for The Glass Guru 's moisture removal services for failed insulating units.

In May and June, The Glass Guru added two more locations, each becoming the first company units in Texas and Florida.  Brothers Ted and Aaron Halladay opened The Glass Guru of Frisco. The Halladays previously worked in the landscaping business. Rick Hey opened The Glass Guru of Jacksonville. Hey worked in specialized printing services for 16 years, according to the release.
