Interior surface coating

Guardian Industries introduced its first commercial interior surface coating for glass, SunGuard IS 20. The interior surface coating offers architects and building owners an additional layer of energy performance control, according to a company release. SunGuard IS 20 improves the effectiveness of Guardian's advanced architectural glass when combined with any SunGuard coatings. When SunGuard IS 20 is teamed with Guardian SNX 62/27, the resulting glass product has the highest performance level of any dual glaze IG unit available from the company, with a visible light transmission of 60 percent, a solar heat gain coefficient of 0.25 and a U-value as low as 0.20 with argon fill. Through the use of the interior surface coating, the performance of double glaze products can approach triple glaze units, according to the release. SunGuard IS 20 is available through the Guardian Select SunGuard Fabricator network.
