The American Subcontractors Association advised construction employees to prepare for the Occupational Health and Safety Administration’s rule on crystalline silica. E. Colette Nelson, chief advocacy officer, ASA, said that construction employees should be ready comply with the new rule, which was issued by OSHA on March 25, 2016, and will go into effect on Sept. 23. ASA is collaborating with more than 20 other construction-related associations to block or postpone enforcement of the rule.
