Commercial Construction Spending Declines Slightly in November 2018

According to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics, November 2018 construction spending reached $1.3 trillion, seasonally adjusted, up 3.4 percent year-over-year, as reported by the Associated General Contractors of America. The data was released late due to the government shutdown.

Commercial construction spending dropped 2.3 percent in November, representing a 1.3 percent year-over-year dip. Construction employment rose for 76 percent of the 358 metro areas documented by BLS, dropping in 10 percent of metro areas, according to AGC analysis.
