Glaston Announces Layoffs in Face of Lower-than-expected Demand

Glaston Corp. will be initiating temporary lay-offs and terminating employment contracts, according to a company statement. The measures are in response to a lower than expected demand for heat treatment equipment, say officials. The measures could lead to the termination of 20 employees, according to the company, and, in combination with other profitability improving actions, is designed to save approximately $2.2 million.

The company’s full-year 2019 profitability guidance remains unchanged, according to the statement.
