Growth Accelerates for ABI in November

Continuing a year of growth, the Architectural Billings Index, compiled by the American Institute of Architects, spiked again in November, jumping to 55. Representing the highest index of the year, November’s report also suggests that billings growth may be accelerating.

The West leads the four geographical regions in growth, though firms in all regions experienced at least modest gains. General gains registered across all building sectors, with commercial/industrial landing a score of 53.3. The report suggests year-over-year growth that is faster than the average trajectory for the first 10 months. The even spread of gains, across sectors and regions, forecasts a healthy construction market for 2018, the report finds.
