Heather West Public Relations Inc. celebrated its 20th year in business with clients and colleagues attending GlassBuild America, Sept. 12-14 in Las Vegas.

Founded in 1998 by the wife and husband team of Heather West and Mark Long, the company specializes in architectural, engineering and construction product manufacturers and service providers. Its clients include: the American Architectural Manufacturers Association; Apogee Enterprises Inc.’s Building Retrofit Strategy team; Exterior Technologies Inc.; Kolbe and Kolbe Millwork Co.; Linetec; Rockfon; Technoform; and Tubelite Inc.

“We are delighted to commemorate this milestone with so many people who have been an essential part of our business, and our lives, for the last two decades. GlassBuild and Las Vegas also have played enduring roles in our success,” said West, president of the firm.

“The first construction project that we were contracted to promote is in Las Vegas. The city is almost a second home to us given how many trade shows and conferences we’ve attended here in the past 20 years,” said Long, who serves as the company’s administrator. “We are thankful to our clients, and the industry as whole, for our continued success.”

West agreed and added, “It’s humbling to become one of the industry’s ‘gray-hairs.’ It seems like yesterday that we started with a few eager and trusting clients. I worked on a first-generation iMac, connected to the Internet with dial-up, and spent a significant portion of the week at the local Kinko’s.

“Now, our high-speed connections and mobile devices let us share our clients’ content more efficiently, through more channels, regardless of location. We literally have worked from the edge of Mongolia. We are fortunate to do so and are grateful to share our journey with such great people,” she said.
