Houston Area Glass Association Awards Student Scholarships

The Houston Area Glass Association awarded three scholarships in its 2018 annual scholarship program. Award recipients Weston Ozment, Katie Emmons and Lina Solorzano will participate in a formal presentation at HAGA’s quarterly meeting, June 7, in Houston.  

The annual scholarship is available to any high school senior or college student referred by a HAGA member. The applicants are judged on a 350-word essay, volunteerism and school transcripts. Applications are made available on Jan. 1 of the scholarship award year.

Weston Ozment, son of David Ozment, past president of HAGA and manager at Binswanger, received a $1,000 scholarship. Ozment attends the University of Houston-Clear Lake with an expected graduation date of 2021.

Emmons was awarded the 2018 scholarship of $500 on behalf of HAGA, and attends Texas A&M University.

Solorzano was also awarded HAGA's 2018 scholarship of $500, and is a student at the University of Houston.
