The U.S. branch of Bovone will open in 2020 close to Salem Distributing Co.’s headquarters in North Carolina, say company officials. The expansion to the U.S. of the Italian company will streamline exchanges between the glass fabrication machinery manufacturer, Bovone and its distributor-partner, Salem, according to the company. Within the product lifecycle management process, this move will make it easier and faster to integrate data for robotics, prepare and install machinery, and service customers in the entire North American market.

This expansion provides an enormous opportunity for Salem, through two of its divisions—Salem Flat Glass & Mirror and Salem Stone—to better serve customers and provide innovative machinery solutions to the glass and stone industries.

“Bovone is known in the marketplace to be the heavyweight when it comes to glass processing equipment and robotics,” says Doug Mangus, machine sales director for Salem. “Its expansion to the U.S. will enable our teams to become more efficient and responsive in both sales and technical support.”

Salem itself has recently grown with the acquisition of HHH Tempering Resources, and has an expanded line of equipment and tooling offerings, along with a growing technical service and support presence, say officials.

“Together on U.S. soil, our companies can more fully leverage and integrate new and existing machinery with enhanced technology,” says Mike Willard, CEO of Salem. “This will benefit our customers in streamlined processes for faster production and little downtime—exactly what they’ve been asking for these past years.”
