Vitro Architectural Glass (formerly PPG Glass) added three new topics to its Glass Education Center site.

The new topics include:

  • How to Read Color in Glass: This guide details key glass color measurement systems and related American Society of Testing and Materials standards with recommendations on how to properly evaluate architectural glass samples for color accuracy.
  • Optimal Low-E Coating Placement for Double- and Triple-Glazed Insulating Glass Units: This presentation uses an infographic and text to explain proper surface orientation for low-emissivity coatings on double-glazed and triple-glazed IGUs to optimize performance. The differences between passive and solar control, low-E glasses and how they impact surface orientation also are discussed.
  • Cost Considerations in Specifying Vitro Architectural Glass: This article highlights the cost associated with specifying Vitro Glass products in relation to total curtain wall fabrication costs.
