Syracuse Glass Co. CEO Joe Gudenburr passed away on April 2 after a battle with cancer.
"When Joe was chosen to succeed me as CEO two years ago, we found a highly successful and experienced executive to lead our company," says Syracuse Glass Board Chair John Dwyer in a statement. "I have had the privilege of witnessing Joe's smooth transition into the role of CEO and the difference he made in two short years."
According to Dwyer, Gudenburr continued to work actively during his cancer treatment over the last few months. He only stepped back last week as he entered hospice care. He is survived by his wife, Joanne.
Dwyer has reassumed the role of CEO on an interim basis.
