Guardian Glass North America welcomed Kris La-Borde as a regional technical advisor.
What he will do
La-Borde will provide glazing performance technical support for fabricators, glaziers, architects, consultants, developers and specification writers with a focus on the commercial sector. As part of the North America Technical Services team, he will support the West region sales team and Guardian’s Kingsburg, California, manufacturing facility. La-Borde reports to Jacob Kasbrick, director of the North America commercial segment and technical services.
“We are very happy to welcome Kris to the team, where his extensive façade engineering experience will make him a valuable resource to Guardian Elite Fabricators, Guardian Select Fabricators and our architectural partners,” Kasbrick says.
His experience
La-Borde has more than 16 years of experience in engineering across the globe with the past 12 years specific to the façade and building enclosure industry. He previously was a façade engineer for Thornton Tomasetti in Los Angeles and London, spending eight years focusing on North American façades and enclosures. Prior to that, La-Borde spent four years with Swiss façade contractor Yuanda where he engineered façade systems and specialized in curtain wall for commercial developments across mainland Europe and the UK.
Already experienced with Guardian Glass after multiple project collaborations, La-Borde is now part of Guardian’s network of regional technical advisors that offer knowledgeable, extensive, locally-based building construction expertise on a wide array of topics related to glass and building enclosures; from codes and standards to energy modeling and performance analysis. La-Borde will help centralize, develop and communicate Guardian’s technical services and expertise to industry peers and colleagues while exploring new opportunities and advances in the industry.
