Nineteen students from the Beverungen Secondary School visited machine manufacturer Hegla in early March.
What the tour consisted of
As part of the two-hour tour, the students learned about the production processes and various departments from close quarters and also discovered the various apprenticeship opportunities from current apprentices themselves. At the end, the students had the opportunity to ask questions.
During the tour, they gained insights into professions such as technical product designer, industrial mechanic, mechatronics technician, IT specialist, electronics technician for automation technology, warehouse logistics specialist, and industrial clerk. At the same time, they learned about the processes and relationships of Hegla as a company.
The invitation to visit Hegla came about as part of the TELC (The European Language Certificates) course, which the company has financially supported for many years. This elective course offers pupils the chance to advance their English skills and prove it by gaining a certificate.
