Eastman introduced Saflex LiteCarbon Clear at glasstec, located at stand 11A50. The product is a new PVB interlayer designed to reduce carbon emissions in buildings while preserving safety and desired aesthetics.
About the new interlayer
Eastman Saflex LiteCarbon Clear is engineered to provide a 25% reduction in carbon dioxide emissions. This carbon footprint data has been independently verified by the company’s life cycle assessments. LiteCarbon Clear aligns with the industry’s sustainability goals and helps to demonstrate progress towards Scope 3 reduction targets, say officials. The interlayer is produced with sustainable strategies, including the use of dedicated pre-consumer recycled content and improved energy efficiency
Besides sustainability , the interlayer was also designed to achieve the highest safety level of 1B1 (EN12600). And, because the interlayer processes like other of the company’s products, no new equipment or setup is required, say officials.
