Alpen Names Vice President and General Manager of AlpenGlass

SatterwhiteAlpen High Performance Products announced the addition of fenestration industry innovation specialist James Satterwhite as the Vice President and General Manager of AlpenGlass. Satterwhite was hired to lead the company’s insulated, thin-glass focused manufacturing processes after spending nearly a decade serving as the CEO for Advanced Glazings, Ltd, a Canadian company that creates light-diffusion glass products.

What people are saying

“We are thrilled to add Jim to the Alpen team,” says Alpen CEO Andrew Zech. “AlpenGlass, our new insulated glass unit division, is expected to be a major growth area of the firm as thin triple and quad glass units are adopted by window companies as a proven, ‘turnkey,’ and cost-effective way to meet ever-tightening energy standards. Jim’s leadership and experience will be critical in driving that growth.”

“AlpenGlass represents the leading edge in glass innovation,” says Satterwhite. “Insulated thin glass and specifically thin triples and quads moves the fenestration industry forward by presenting a higher-performance product than is currently available, and which can be readily incorporated into the manufacturing process for every single window and architectural facade manufacturer. The evolution of AlpenGlass is about more than profits, it is tied to Alpen’s greater mission to make high performance windows and facades more affordable and accessible for all.”

About AlpenGlass

AlpenGlass incorporates custom thin glass (0.5-1.1 millimeter) configurations to boost window and facade insulation, comfort and noise attenuation without impacting the weight, thickness or design of existing window lines. AlpenGlass also includes low embodied carbon levels. To meet the growing demand for high performance IGUs, Alpen has partnered with Kensington HPP to supply east coast demand from a facility outside of Pittsburgh. This partnership, and the hiring of Satterwhite, allows Alpen to immediately scale production and more efficiently serve markets from coast to coast.
