Lou Green, founder of A-1 Glass, passed away at the age of 85 on Saturday, January 18, 2025.
A-1 Glass Co. was founded by Green in 1965. During his time at A-1 Glass, Green was deeply involved within the industry. He was one of the founders of the Texas Glass Association, and a board member of the National Glass Association. He was honored to receive the first “Lou Green” Award from the Texas Glass Association in 1991. In 1995 he was bestowed the Service award (40 years) from the Houston Glass Association. The spring of 2004 marked his retirement from A-1 Glass.
He was born March 17, 1939, to Hunter Green and Vera (McCain) Green, in Haskell, Texas. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Barbara Green, and their two sons.
