The sill features a fully supported anodized aluminum cap bonded to an injection-molded ABS base, delivering durability and rigidity under load. A fixed fiberglass sill riser creates a thermal break, reducing conductive heat loss at the threshold.
To prevent water intrusion, the sill includes a dual-layer protection system. Two pressure-equalized drip caps within the door sweep deflect 99% of water away from the interior. Any remaining moisture is sealed out by a large, high-compression bulb seal positioned behind the secondary fin.
The Nova hybrid sill is engineered for modern fiberglass door systems and supports higher design pressure ratings, making it ideal for energy-efficient new construction and replacement applications.
