Quanex announced that it plans to close its West Sacramento site and lay off 50 workers this spring, according to reporting by the Sacramento Bee. The company notified the state that it will be closing the location, at 3640 Ramos Drive in West Sacramento, on March 21, 2025.

Bob Daniels, president of Quanex’s North American fenestration business, shared this statement with Glass Magazine:
To create greater synergy throughout our North American manufacturing footprint and best serve our customers, Quanex recently made the decision to cease operations at our West Sacramento, California, screens production facility. We do not anticipate any interruption in supply for our customers throughout the United States.
We thank our teams in West Sacramento for their hard work throughout the plant’s history.
