Alfred “Fred” Jayson, Second Generation of Bendheim, Passes Away
Alfred “Fred” Jayson, the second generation of Bendheim Architectural Glass, passed away on Dec. 8 at 100 years of age.
Founded in 1927 by Sem and Margaret Bendheim, the company started out as an importer and distributor of colored art glass. The founders’ son-in-law, Jayson, took over management of the business in 1965, and his sons Robert, Donald and Steven began running the company in the 1970s. Robert’s son, Ben Jayson, became president of the company this last summer.
Fred Jayson remained dedicated to the company until the end of his life. “Bendheim is tradition, reputation, and longevity,” Jayson said. “I come to work every day and enjoy the growth, spirit, enthusiasm, and dedication of our people.”
Memories and expressions of sympathy can be shared with the family.
