Anti-Reflective Glass Launches in the UK

Quiosk uses OptiView

Pilkington OptiView Ultra, an anti-reflective and highly transparent glass by the NSG Group, has launched in the UK to support architects specifying for the retail and leisure sectors.

About the glass

The anti-reflective glass can reduce visible light reflectance to less than 1%, compared to 8% typically provided by standard glass. The neutral color of the coating aims to provide a natural view through the glass, improving clarity and preserving the true colors of the viewed area.

The glass is ideal for high-light environments where visibility is crucial, including retail display, and entertainment and cultural venues. It’s also suitable for technical applications, such as digital signage and touch screens.

Pilkington OptiView Ultra is easy to process and work with. It can be laminated and toughened making it suitable for internal and external use in a variety of demanding applications.

The product has proven to retain the intended true color when printed or painted, and can also be bent, allowing the glass elements of a project to match the intended aesthetics.

What NSG says

“The product delivers excellent aesthetics and a superior level of clarity and vision through the glass, while retaining the durability and processability found across the Pilkington OptiView range. There are numerous sectors and applications that can benefit from using the glass, from retail to residential, and we’re excited to help customers take advantage of its unique properties to meet their design challenges,” says Craig Bain, VA sales manager, Pilkington United Kingdom Ltd, part of the NSG Group.

Availability

The glass is now widely available in the UK in various thicknesses from 4 millimeters to 10 millimeters, both single and double-coated. The product is stocked in St Helens and is available for distribution directly to customers or through the Pilkington UK branch network.
