Due to concerns surrounding COVID-19, known as the coronavirus, in the Los Angeles area, the Facade Tectonics Institute has postponed Facades Week: LA! until Aug. 3-7, 2020, with the World Congress to be held Aug. 5-6, according to officials.
“We are dedicated to delivering the highest caliber event possible with the safety and health of our attendees, sponsors, and staff being the top priority,” says Katie Gould, program director, Facade Tectonics Institute, in an official statement. “Many companies have enacted restrictive travel bans for their employees, several including travel within the U.S., and it is clear that our speaker program would be heavily impacted unless we postpone. In addition, to prevent anyone from getting sick and avoid any contribution to the spread of the virus, we feel postponing the event is the best option to move forward.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this causes. Fortunately, our hotel partners have graciously agreed to move everyone’s reservations to the new dates in August without penalty. We are working with the hotels to figure out the best way to handle this. At this point, please do not contact the hotel about changing your reservation.
If you are already registered for the World Congress, your registration will automatically be transferred to the new date and no further action is required.
The Institute will communicate further updates as soon as possible once they are available. We greatly appreciate your understanding surrounding this difficult decision. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.”
