Giroux Glass Inc. promoted long-term employee, Michelle Fainberg, to a newly-created role, director of preconstruction design and technology. In this new role, Fainberg is responsible for design-build/design-assist projects and managing a talented team of technicians in the company’s commercial computer-aided design group in California. In addition, Fainberg oversees all systems and decisions involving information technology and software.
Giroux Glass hired Fainberg as an intern in 1996; her first assignment was to computerize hand-drawn shop drawings, thus introducing CAD to the company. After her permanent hire and in her role as CAD manager, Fainberg was involved with the design of over $600 million worth of projects, devising solutions for numerous challenging design issues, as well as assisting in some of the company’s earliest complex projects, such as West Angeles Cathedral in the 1990s. Over the course of her tenure, she has been named the company’s “employee of the month” three times, and was recognized in the industry as one of Glass Magazine’s “20 under 40” in February 2008.
John Cox, director of California project operations, says, “Michelle has been wearing multiple hats at Giroux Glass for so many years. This new role will allow us to maximize the opportunity to benefit from all of her diverse skills.”
Nataline Lomedico, CEO and president, says, “Michelle has been a tremendous contributor to Giroux’s growth and success for the past 25 years. She has advised in the development of our operational processes since Giroux was operating out of its first office on 24th Street in Los Angeles, which measured just 6,000 square feet. Now we have grown to six offices in three states. Michelle has built a wealth of priceless knowledge through her exceptional ability to find solutions in our ever-changing glazing industry. It’s wonderful to know that she came to Giroux as our very first intern and is now an employee owner and a director. We are incredibly proud of Michelle and admire her high standard of excellence. She is uniquely qualified to fill this role; one in which she will certainly continue to be the valuable asset to our team she has been for over 25 years.”
About her promotion Fainberg says, “I am humbled by the confidence Giroux has shown in me with this promotion and am eager to enhance my working relationship with others in the company that I have not had the opportunity to work with in the past. Both preconstruction and technology do go hand in hand, and I am thrilled to be able to promote Giroux and the talented and skilled team we have.”
