Bill Daubmann of MY Shower Door has kick started a GoFundMe to help the Britt family and employees of the Britt and Tilson Glass Company from Asheville, North Carolina.
On Friday, Sept 27th, 2024, Hurricane Helene ravaged Northwest Carolina and decimated the Britt's 100-year old business and Asheville's longest running glass business. All employees and owners are safe, but their lives and homes are torn apart as a result.
As a glazing professional and veteran of hurricane rebuilding in Florida, Billy Britt and the Britt and Tilson families were one of the first ones to send aid to MY Shower Door staff after Hurricane Ian hit Fort Myers Beach and the homes of the company's staff.
All funds will be directed directly to the Britts to use as they see fit.
"I would not ask for this if I did not personally know the family and their faith in helping others. These funds will not be abused and IF their insurance and unemployment does reimburse the staff and these are excess funds, we will return the funds appropriately," Daubmann writes in the GoFundMe description. "I am keeping track of all donations and there will be full transparency to anyone that asks."
