Kensington Glass Arts Inc., a Mid-Atlantic glass manufacturer, commercial glazier and distributor of architectural glass, opened an additional glass fabrication facility in Sterling, Virginia.
“This will give us the opportunity to quickly leverage into the laminated and tempered laminated glass business,” says John Reichlin, president of KGa, “This also gives us additional tempering capabilities, and supports our overall business goals.”
The new Sterling facility will open for production January 2021, following the establishment of processes and procedures to ensure KGa’s outstanding quality manufacturing standards. This 20,000-square-foot facility added to the company’s current 30,000-square-foot facility, will help KGa expand its tempered, laminated and tempered laminated glass fabrication capabilities. The new facility will also further support KGa’s move into the Richmond, Tidewater, and Shenandoah Valley, Virginia, markets, say officials.
In addition to the new facility, KGa is currently working to expand the Ijamsville, Maryland, headquarters facility. This expansion will begin in 2021, with expected completion early 2022. This expansion will triple the fabrication capacity of KGa’s current Ijamsville facility.
