Since September 2011 MyGlassTruck has donated a portion of the cost of every glass rack, truck body, or trailer the company sells to its local chapter of Susan G. Komen.
The company is proud to report that lifetime-to-date those donations total $111,947, enough to fund 746 mammograms. And, in spite of the COVID-19 pandemic, the MyGlassTruck Campaign has raised $10,188 since March 2020.
The company also features a pink themed booth and glass trucks at industry trade-shows and events across the country. To encourage donations beyond the company’s customer campaign, they have also produced and given away thousands of breast cancer awareness t-shirts, bumper stickers and tote bags.
The company’s local chapter, Susan G. Komen New Jersey, puts most of the company’s donation to work with others in our local community to support women who need breast cancer screening, diagnostic, and support services. A portion of the donations also go toward financial assistance for treatment costs for under-insured or uninsured breast cancer patients. The funds that are left are added to a national pool of funds promoting prevention and medical research aimed at finding a cure to breast cancer forever.
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Everyone knows someone whose life has been touched by breast cancer. According to the National Cancer Institute, 1 in 8 women born in the United States today will be diagnosed with breast cancer at some point in their lives. Komen’s and our goal is to reduce that to zero.
As October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the company is encouraging everyone to do what they can to help whether it’s donating or volunteering. Rustin Cassway, president of MyGlassTruck, one of the DCI Group of Companies says, “Supporting those with breast cancer and helping efforts to find a cure is extremely important to MyGlassTruck. We must make sure these sisters, daughters, and mothers are not forgotten during the COVID-19 pandemic. We’re humbled to have the opportunity to make a difference with our fundraising campaign and would like to thank our customers and team members for helping make it happen.”
