Roto North America introduced the X-Drive HD Program, a heavy-duty hardware system that allows casement window sashes to reach weights up to 200 pounds on a 40-inch by 90-inch window. Its program includes X-Drive HD operators, the Supreme Hinge, Limiter, and 14.5-inch Facemount Track.
About the operators
X-Drive HD Operators are available in both OP06 and OP08 platforms in 304 SST (stainless steel). Utilizing Roto’s existing X-Drive operator platform, the HD operators meet AAMA industry standards achieving 8,000 cycles and are rated to C –AW40. The Supreme Hinge and 14.5-inch track together with the operator reduce the operating force at the crank handle.
The 14.5-inch Facemount Track includes a slider made of low-friction materials to allow the sash to glide smoothly and efficiently. This comes in both powder-coated steel and 304 SST, making it perfect for resisting harsh outdoor elements.
The 304 SST Supreme Hinge track and shoe also provide an additional load capacity of up to 200 pounds. This standard 7/16 inch cavity premium hinge provides four millimeters of adjustment, includes a proprietary low-friction coating to reduce operating force, and promotes easy sash assembly with its flared track entrance. Per Roto’s Application Hardware Matrix, the HD Dual Arm X-Drive Operator requires a limit device to limit opening to 60 degrees or less. The limiter is also constructed with 304 SST for durability to limit the hinge shoe movement in opening the window. The non-handed design also allows for fewer SKUs, making this system efficient and simple to install.
