Window Safety Week is the first full week in April, coinciding with the arrival of spring when people tend to want to open the windows and let in air, according to the National Safety Council. Roto North America is cognizant of the safety concern regarding children falling through open windows. With that concern in mind, the company became the exclusive distributor of Angel Ventlocks (AVL), a Window Opening Control Device (WOCD) manufactured by Mighton Products.
About WOCDs
Since 2009, WOCD’s have been required in the U.S. for certain window openings to meet code requirements and are intended to limit the window opening to less than four inches in an effort to help prevent the fall of young children from open windows. AVL’s are manufactured with high quality Zamak 3, in three finishes, and are tested in compliance with ASTM-F2090. Single action devices (sold as a pair in a kit) are designed to be installed on hung windows, one device applied to the left and right sides of sash, whereas dual action devices are designed to be installed on horizontal sliding windows.
