Tempco Glass Fabrication top executive Johnson Chen was recently recognized by the Asian American Business Development Center at its annual 50 Outstanding Asian Americans in Business Awards event. This prestigious national award recognizes the Asian-American entrepreneurs and business leaders who have made significant contributions in corporate America, their communities, and the economy.
About the awards
The 21st annual AABDC Award ceremony and dinner gala was held on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2022, at Cipriani Wall Street in Manhattan. Seema Mody, global markets reporter and host at CNBC, served as the event’s emcee, along with host John Wang, president and founder of AABDC. The event was attended by several hundred business leaders from across the New York Metro area and beyond.

Among the 2022 Outstanding Asian Americans in Business were Chetan Bhargiri, chief risk officer for JP Morgan Chase; Moushmi Culver, vice president of manufacturing strategy for Merck & Co.; and Nancy Quan, chief technical officer for The Coca-Cola Company.
About Chen
Chen joined Tempco in 2016 to assess and improve operations, and he is now responsible for leading the regional glass processing firm. With a team of 60 employees, the company provides glass design and fabrication services for the architectural, real estate, and construction industries throughout the New York Metro region.
Tempco was named to the Inc. 5000 List of Fastest Growing Companies for 2019 and 2020, and it is annually listed as a Top Glass Fabricator by national industry publication Glass Magazine.
Under Chen’s leadership, the company has grown significantly, increasing revenues 75 percent despite the economic challenges of the 2020-2021 pandemic. He invested over $1 million in production equipment, added new product lines and services, and built a dedicated and growing customer base. Prior to coming on board at Tempco, Chen worked at the law offices of several district attorneys and judges.
